Claim your share of the $750m Facebook data settlement
The social-media giant might owe you money if you used Facebook between May 2007 and December 2022.
A California judge preliminarily approved a $725 million settlement between Facebook parent Meta Platforms and users who say the company allowed their data to be viewed or shared by third parties, notably Cambridge Analytica, without their consent.
The $725 million settlement applies to any Facebook user in the U.S. between May 24, 2007, and Dec. 22, 2022.
The form can be completed online or downloaded and mailed to the settlement administrator at the following address: Facebook Consumer Privacy User Profile Litigation, c/o Settlement Administrator, 1650 Arch St., Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
The claim form must be submitted no later than Aug. 25, 2023.
The settlement form says the payment will vary based on how many people submit claims (divide $750m by the total number of users in the USA, 240m, as the base case)
“Settlement payments will be distributed as soon as possible if the Court grants Final Approval of the Settlement and after any appeals are resolved,” the claim website notes.
